Manifesting Magic: Checks in the Mail

“When you feel so whole that you no longer care whether ‘it’ will happen, that is when some amazing things materialize before your eyes.” – Dr. Joe Dispenza

At 24 years old, I was juggling two demanding jobs. By day, I was a nanny to four young boys, and by night, I worked full-time as an ER tech at Tri City Medical Center in North County, San Diego. Seven days a week, my focus was survival—paying bills, and navigating the relentless grind of daily life. My only escape was the gym at my apartment complex. Evenings were my sanctuary, a time to unwind before heading into the night shift at the ER.

The gym had a treadmill positioned in front of a large window, which reflected my image against the dark night outside. As I ran, the repetitive motion and focus would bring flashes of escape, a true vision of a dream. It was as if the physical momentum unlocked a mental portal, and new ideas would flow in like sparks from a generator. That window, my reflection, and my treadmill became the birthplace of daydreams that would change my life.

From my experience in China, learning how to heal my brain with my mind (full story in a previous blog), I knew how energy worked to an extent. But this time I wanted to dive into it even deeper.

While running, I often saw a version of myself far removed from my current reality. In my mind’s eye, I wasn’t an overworked EMT; I was standing on a Hollywood red carpet. At the time, my life revolved around my hospital duties and babysitting responsibilities. I hadn’t even considered a career in the film industry. Yet, the vision of being part of something bigger—a movie premiere, a life of excitement and glamour—kept appearing.

The Catalyst: Discovering The Secret

Around this time, The Secret had just been released. I purchased the DVD and played it on repeat. Obsessed would be an understatement. I immersed myself in the stories, devoured every principle, and marveled at how ordinary people had used visualization to manifest extraordinary lives.

One story in particular stood out: a man imagined receiving checks in the mail. He didn’t overthink how or why the money would come; he simply felt the joy of receiving it. Eventually, those checks began to show up. His success felt tangible to me—if he could do it, so could I.

Inspired, I began my own visualization practice. Every day, I imagined myself pulling checks—not bills—out of my mailbox. I let myself feel the excitement as though it were real. And when I was at the gym, staring into my reflection, I allowed myself to fully step into the red carpet vision. For me, those moments became a portal to a world where stress evaporated, and my dreams were my reality.

The Secret to Manifestation

The key to manifestation isn’t controlling the how. It’s about focusing on the end result—the feeling, the joy, the gratitude for having already achieved it and taking-action without fear. Every opportunity that presents itself is merely an answer to your calling. GO FOR IT!  For two years, I visualized those checks and that red carpet moment. Every day, I leaned into the emotions that came with these imagined realities. Not really knowing why they kept showing up in my thoughts, it seemed too easy and I became obsessed over them.

Then, everything started to shift.

A few months into my role as an ER tech, I got a call—a friend needed a set medic to cover them on a TV show. I jumped at the opportunity, excited at the prospect of a change and a pay raise. Little did I know, this was the first step toward stepping into my vision.

I arrived on set with my skateboard in one hand, a soccer ball in the other, and my medic bag slung over my back. My excitement was palpable, though I didn’t fully realize that this was a pivotal moment. This story is detailed in another blog, How I Became a Stuntwoman, but it marked the beginning of a new chapter.

I kept visualizing. I held tightly to the image of the checks and the red carpet, and I remained open to the opportunities that began to present themselves.

When Dreams Align with Action

Eventually, one thing led to another, and I was offered the chance to become a stuntwoman. I moved back to Los Angeles, where I grew up, and began training. My first year in stunts was a whirlwind of learning, growing, and pushing my limits.

One day, about a year into this journey, I went to my mailbox as usual, expecting bills. But instead, I found envelopes marked “SAG”—Screen Actors Guild, the union for Actors and stunt performers. I ran back to my apartment and tore them open. Inside were residual checks from the TV shows I had worked on that year.

I couldn’t believe it—checks in the mail, just as I had visualized! I couldn’t believe my daily visualizations, taking action and never giving up, worked. From that day forward, checks began arriving DAILY. Sixteen years later, I still receive residual checks. They show up every single day. The only thing I regret? Forgetting to specify how much they should be!

The red carpet moments also materialized. I’ve walked a few in my career, each time reflecting on how those treadmill visions became my reality. Each time, life just didn’t seem real. I couldn’t believe I actually manifested what I had visualized for two years. I never thought in a million years I would become a Stuntwoman.

The Power of Visualization

I owe much of my journey to the principles I learned from The Secret. It gave me a framework to understand the thoughts and feelings I was already experiencing and showed me how to amplify them. Visualization, combined with an elevated emotion like excitement or gratitude, is a powerful tool. Dr. Joe Dispenza calls it “living in the feeling of your future.”

Even when I didn’t have what I wanted, I allowed myself to feel as if I did. I didn’t just think about the checks or the red carpet; I felt them in my bones. I refused to feel lack. But fulfillment. That elevated emotion created a magnetic pull, drawing opportunities and experiences toward me.

But it’s not always a straight line. Manifestation often takes twists and turns. It requires patience, persistence, and a willingness to trust the process. Sometimes the journey doesn’t unfold the way you expect, but it always aligns with your highest good. You always get what you asked for and sometimes even better. Be careful what you do ask for you will get it. Be specific, like how much you want those daily checks to be;)

Raising Your Vibration

“To be happy with yourself in the present moment while maintaining a dream of your future is a grand recipe for manifestation.” – Dr. Joe Dispenza

Over the years, I’ve learned that our emotional state is everything. When a clear vision comes to me—whether while working out, walking the dogs, or sitting in nature—I take it as a sign from the Universe. I act on it, looking for open doors and following the path laid before me.

The key is maintaining an elevated vibration. When life triggers low-vibration emotions like doubt, fear, or frustration, it’s up to us to recalibrate. Meditation, gratitude practices, exercise, or even just stepping outside can help. The more we master our emotions, the more aligned we become with the life we want to create.

The Journey Continues

Manifestation is not a one-and-done process. It’s a lifestyle, a practice of tuning in, trusting, and staying open to possibility. Looking back, my treadmill visions were previews of the future. They were gifts from the Universe, showing me what was possible if I dared to believe and act.

If you’re dreaming of something bigger—whether it’s financial freedom, a new career, or a red carpet moment of your own—start with the feeling. Imagine it, feel it, and trust it. Your thoughts are powerful. Your emotions are the bridge between the present and the future.

And when the opportunities come, don’t hesitate. Run through the open doors, embrace the twists and turns, and let your vision guide you.

Because the life you want is waiting—it just needs you to believe in it first.
